Simulate typical tearing action to determine the tearing strength for perforated paper

INTRODUCTION

Traditional peroration testing measures tensile strength by pulling uniformly across the entire width of a perforated sample. TMI's Perf Tester determines perforation strength by more closely duplicating the typical tearing action that starts at one end of the perforations.

• Digital display store and editing of up to 500 readings, selectable units (percentages, grams, millinewtons), RS-232, settable limits, statistics—average, standard deviation, high/low results, and report printout with optional printer
• Autocalibration of pendulum with supplied calibration weight
• Grips and pendulum release are pneumatic (gauge shows clamp pressure in psi and kg/cm²)
• Easily interchangeable pendulums ranging from 200 g to 6400 g
• Calculates (and displays) average force for single ply values in millinewtons or gram force
