Testing Machines Group Offers Calibration Paper Tabs for Parker PrintSurfT
Messmer Instruments Limited (A TMI Group Company) now offers Calibration Paper Tabs for checking the calibration status of Parker Print SurfT (PPS) testers. These standardized paper test specimens (tabs) provide customers with the means of determining the calibration status of their PPS machine by direct comparison with a reference Parker PrintSurfT (PPS) maintained by Messmer Instruments, Ltd., which is an ISO Standardizing Laboratory.
ISO TC6, the international standardizing body for pulp and paper testing, has appointed Messmer Instruments Ltd one of certain laboratories to supply suitable reference materials and services. Messmer is already an ISO Standardizing Laboratory for the supply of fluidic impedances and plastics reference samples for Printsurf calibration.
Existing services do not supply the "correct value" for the property. They supply an industry mean value derived from all the instruments in the service and this may include instruments in poor condition or state of calibration. The tabs offer the user accuracy, and the ability to compare results with a recognized standard. They eliminate the need for sending results in to the supplier and waiting for an answer. The Calibration paper Tabs can be used on any PPS-type instrument which conforms to ISO 8791-4 or TAPPI T555 and can accommodate a single test piece of size 10cm x 10cm (4in x 4in)
The tabs are assigned certificated values generated on an ISO IR1 master PrintSurf instrument maintained by our ISO Standardizing Laboratory. Thus the user can have complete confidence in the accuracy of the assigned roughness values.
The Parker Print-SurfT Tabs can be ordered by subscription for a regular quarterly supply but are also available on demand for users who need an express check on calibration.
Each set of Parker Print-SurfT Tabs comprises quantity 3 sealed packs of paper test specimens in ranges low, medium and high (PPS) roughness values. Each pack contains quantity 10 paper test specimens (one test) dimensions 10cm x 10cm (4in x 4in). Each set includes a traceable Certificate of Calibration and instructions for use.
