Testing Machines Inc. is pleased to introduce the NEW Parker Print Surf. Developed from Dr. John Parker’s original method, the Parker Print-Surf is a microprocessor-controlled instrument, which performs high speed, precision measurements of paper surface roughness under conditions that simulate those encountered during the printing process.
In its latest form, the instrument offers extended ranges of clamp pressure and measurement capability, together with a dual-head option for increased testing efficiency. These two improvements provide the user with the information needed to avoid time-consuming, costly printing problems.
The user clamps the specimen between a precision engineered measuring head and a specially designed backing assembly. The instrument then measures the resistance to airflow and converts it to a mean roughness value in micrometers.
The Parker Print Surf comes complete with an integral PC and large, clear LCD display along with built-in diagnostic and calibration routines. Its dual range allows for the measurement of rougher samples while the dual head enables the user to measure roughness on both sides of the specimen or roughness and air permeance simultaneously. This machine conforms to ISO 8791/4 and TAPPI T555.
